Ralph Losey analyses the latest Broiler Chicken antitrust ediscovery ruling, finding that two sets of experts may be appropriate in burden arguments: search experts, and budget/pricing experts. Counsel for Agri Stats expressed a wide range ($1.2m to 1.7m) to review a set of data. Agri Stats did not delineate the custodians, time periods or quantities of data, nor did they provide pricing data to underscore their assertions. "Maura [Grossman] was not involved in the latest discovery dispute where, Agri Stats, one of many defendants, claimed a request for production was too burdensome as to it. The latest problem went straight to the presiding Magistrate Judge Jeffrey T. Gilbert who issued his order on July 26, 2018. In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litig., 2018 WL 3586183 (N.D. Ill. 7/26/18)."
I wanted a certification that separates me from my peers. Upon discovering CEDS, I was convinced this was exactly the type of distinction I had been seeking. Since achieving CEDS certification, I’ve noticed immediate recognition from my organization, colleagues, and current and prospective clients. They acknowledge they are more comfortable working with a person who has taken time to seek such certification. CEDS has certainly been worth the small investment and should continue to beget returns for years and years to come.
