Investment capital positions e-discovery pioneer XDD for continued growth and expansion
Mission, Kansas — Xact Data Discovery, a leading international provider of discovery
and data management services for law firms, corporations and government agencies, announces it has
been acquired by Clearview Capital, LLC, a private equity firm based in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. The
transaction includes a capital investment made by Clearview, with XDD founder and CEO Bob Polus
retaining significant ownership in the company. Polus will also continue to lead the XDD management

anniversary and achieved significant growth in 2014. In particular, the company saw tremendous
success with its on and offshore managed review services. XDD expanded its operations by opening new
locations in Atlanta, Georgia, and Century City, California, last year. The company opened two new
domestic review centers in Detroit, Michigan, and Kansas City, Missouri, and also expanded and
upgraded its facilities in New York, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and Dallas.

Advanced Discovery Releases Merged Innovative eDiscovery Technology, XpressLook
eDiscovery services provider combines its two proprietary early case assessment apps, Xpress and FirstLook, within Relativity to deliver a remarkably innovative ECA utility.
Austin, Texas – After its recent acquisition of Responsive Data Services (RDS), Advanced Discovery has decided to combine the best of both companies’ proprietary ECA tools. RDS’s software, Xpress Powered by Relativity, placed in the top 10 most innovative technologies at Relativity Fest in October 2014. Advanced Discovery’s own proprietary app, FirstLook, had similar functionality. Xpress and FirstLook are now merged into a software utility called XpressLook.
XpressLook compresses the time between the receipt of data from clients and its visibility to attorneys. To do this, it makes only the essential data, metadata and extracted text available initially. With this information loaded into a single Relativity database, attorneys can perform the analysis activities available in Relativity along with the expanded functions exclusive to XpressLook.
XpressLook uses Relativity’s triggers, pivots and views to parse metadata details into multiple views for deeper insight and informed decision making. Its privilege log normalization streamlines the tedious and potentially error filled task of assembling custodian names from multiple data sources.
