Join the ACEDS Portland Chapter for a discussion on "Digital Paper-Chasing: An Introduction to Document Discovery in the Age of Big Data." Big data and mass communications have created a golden age of evidence for litigation. Whatever the facts you need to prove, odds are that someone or something has created a digital record of those facts that you can use to win your case. The document warehouses of the last century have been replace by data centers holding vastly more information. But that data is digital and legal teams that continue to treat it like the paper evidence of the last century are missing key evidence and wasting money.

This course is an introduction to the tools, processes, and concepts that make truly digital discovery both possible and powerful, broken into easily-digestible 1-hour portions.  You will learn best practices for every stage of spectrum, from preservation through production, so that you can start incorporating them into your practice today and start using digital evidence efficiently and effectively.
