Q. What is an ACEDS web seminar?

A. The ACEDS web seminar or webinar provides online training from the comfort of your home or office. You may access the webinar from any internet connection using a web browser and you may listen over the phone or over your computer speakers.

Q. Where do I find web seminar schedules?

Q. What is the difference between a live webinar and an on-demand webinar?

A. A live webinar consists of a live presentation using Go-To-Webinar including a PowerPoint presentation followed by a real-time question and answer session. To check and test your computer prior to attending a live webinar please visit:

Contact your IT department if you do not have administrative privileges to download computer applications such as ActiveX or Java. A. An on-demand webinars consist of a recorded presentation and an embedded version of the corresponding PowerPoint presentation.

Q. How do I register?

A. Visit our website aceds.org, click on the training tab, then select Web Seminars or visit ACEDS.org/training/web-seminars. Choose the ACEDS Webinar that interests you and complete the online registration form. If you have a problem completing the registration form please see the question below.

Q. After completing the web seminar sign up form, I click submit and I receive no response. Is there a problem with the form?

A. In order to successfully sign up for an ACEDS webinar your computer must have unrestricted access to the internet. Please be sure your home or place of work does not restrict access to the internet. In addition, certain types of internet security features such as firewalls and anti-virus software restrict internet use. Contact your IT Administrator for question about firewall and anti-virus software restrictions.

Q. Will I receive instructions ahead of time on how to access the web seminar?

A. Once your registration is complete you will immediately receive an email with a link to access the webinar and a list of instructions. One day and one hour prior to the webinar an email reminder will be sent to you with instructions on how to access the webinar.

Q: Will I get a copy of the Power Point Slides?

A. The PowerPoint slide presentation for each webinar is available for viewing in the on-demand section of the website following the live webinar. The presentation is embedded and is not available for download.

Q: What if I cannot attend or miss the webinar?

A. If you are unable to attend live or if your place of work restricts access to the internet, the webinar will be available in the on-demand webinar section of our website within two (2) business days.

Q. May I give the login of the web seminar to a colleague for the purpose of viewing from a different location?

A. No. The login to a web seminar is set up as a single connection.

Q. How long are web seminars?

A. One hour

Q: Can I get CEDS, CLE and/or CPE credits for attending?

A: Our webinars are worth one (1) CEDS credit. Each webinar is also worth one (1) CPE credit. In order to successfully complete the one (1) CPE credit requirement attendees must be present for the full length of the web seminar and complete the full survey after the live presentation. If an attendee successfully completes these requirements, a certificate of completion will be issued. We do not currently offer CLE credits for our webinars. Those wishing to get CLE credits can self apply to their respective state. We are happy to provide you with the information you may need for self-application.
