ACEDS New England Chapter re-launches with expanded charter and new board

Revitalized chapter enables professionals in the region to access expertise and resources of the nation’s premier eDiscovery association

May 10, 2016– MIAMI — The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), a BARBRI Professional Association, today announced the re-formation of the New England Chapter, a re-launch that offers new opportunities, resources and value for eDiscovery professionals in the New England region – Conn., Maine, Mass., N.H.,  R.I., Vt.

The re-formation of the New England chapter is a key part of ACEDS’ commitment to building a nationwide community of eDiscovery specialists for the exchange of ideas, guidance, training and best practices. The chapter will be led by a new Board of Directors, a well-known group of eDiscovery experts and professionals:

President Colleen E. Freeman, Esq. is director of business development at DiscoverReady, a leading provider of eDiscovery and managed review solutions for Fortune 500 companies and Am Law 100 firms.  With more than 15 years of experience as an attorney and eDiscovery consultant, she specializes in discovery consulting related to complex litigation and investigations.

Membership Chair Daniel K. Gelb, Esq. is a partner at the Boston law firm of Gelb & Gelb LLP, and was recently listed among the “Top 100″ by Massachusetts Super Lawyers.  He is also a member of The Sedona Conference® Working Group on Electronic Document Retention & Production.

Sponsorship Chair Oliver Silva is the litigation support manager for Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP, one of the ten largest law firms in Massachusetts. He has successfully built the litigation support group from the ground up, offering best-in-class project management, consultation and technical solutions.

Like other ACEDS chapters, the New England Chapter will promote eDiscovery competence and professional development for colleagues at local businesses, law offices, corporations, government organizations and other entities that deal with the pressing challenges posed by electronically stored information. It will also foster education, networking and the validity of certification within the local eDiscovery community so that practitioners can share knowledge and experience to move the profession forward.

“We’re very excited with the rebirth of the New England Chapter and its new board,” says Susan Kavanagh, director of client and member services, BARBRI Professional Associations. “This team will have a strong and positive impact in advancing eDiscovery within its region.”
